Handle - Getting Started - How To Navigate Handle
Everything you need to know about finding your way around Handle.
What to Expect
When you first log in, you may see a blank screen that looks like this:
This does not mean the system is broken, only that no searches have been created or shared to you. Reach out to your admin for help setting up your default searches, or create your own. For more information, see “Searches” (article forthcoming).
Menu Bar
The menu bar is in the blue right-hand sidebar. Hover over the icons and it will open, showing you the links you need to navigate the system.
Help
This is also where you will find the Help button. Here, you’ll find additional articles explaining Handle features and how to get the most from the application.
You can right-click and pin the Help Section to a tab inside the platform.
Then it will stay open among your other tabs for easy reference.
Alert Banner
A banner across the top of the page will share alerts about system updates. These may include quick links to important or useful information, as this one does:
Pin the Menu Bar Open
To open the menu bar, hover In the upper right corner of the page.
To pin it open, click the white triangle in that same spot.
Desktop vs. Mobile Views
At the bottom of the menu bar, you’ll find the Desktop view link. Here’s where you can toggle between a desktop and mobile view.
This is also where you can set up your custom mobile views.
The mobile view looks like this.
Click “Menu” at the top of the view to see your menu bar.
This is where you can set your preferences for your mobile view, which can be different from your desktop preferences.
To return to a desktop view, click Menu, and at the bottom of the screen, click Desktop View. This allows you to toggle back to the desktop view.
