Configure Quick Access
How to configure the Handle mobile application to quickly access the information you need.
- The Handle Mobile App views can be configured independently from the desktop app
- You can easily change which views are pinned for mobile use.
- Settings can be adjusted to improve Handle usability and performance in the field.
How to Configure from Handle Mobile from the Desktop
- On the right side of the Handle app, click on “Desktop View” and select “Mobile View”
- Resize your browser window to replicate a narrow mobile phone screen size
- Setup your views as if you were in the mobile app
- Click the left dot at the bottom of the screen to change Advanced Search filter settings
- Filter settings carry over to the desktop app too)
- Click the right dot at the bottom of the screen to adjust view settings (view setting changes will only will affect the Mobile app)
- Mobile performance can be improved by turning “Preload” off and lowering the “Result Limit” for mobile
- See “Views – Choose views that work better on mobile” below for information on changing how search results display to read better on mobile
- Click the left dot at the bottom of the screen to change Advanced Search filter settings
- Once finished click “Mobile View” and switch back to “Desktop View”
Pinning - get what you need with faster using less data
- Pinned Tabs keep links to frequently accessed views accessible from the home screen
- Mobile and desktop pins are controlled independently
- Avoid preloading and pinning unnecessary pages in the field to
- Open a page you want to pin
- Click the pin icon
- From the page settings menu:
- Click the right dot at the bottom of the search results screen
- Tap on the pin icon to the right of the page name
- Tap “Save” in the lower right
- From the home page:
- Tap on the pin icon to the right of the page name

Setup Views - Choose views that work better on mobile
Handle Views
- Card – Scrollable view that groups each record’s fields in a single card – great for mobile
- Activity – Simplified list of essential data fields
- Grid – Fully configurable and sortable view that can provide access to any field in a search
- Map – A map with the plotted points of of what is in your search
- Calendar – Agenda, Day, Week, Month view
Change Views
- Click the right dot at the bottom of the search results screen
- Click on the View selector menu change the setting
- Tap Save in the lower right
TIPS:
- If a tab is saved as a grid on the desktop you may want to display it as a card view in mobile for easier viewing
- Any configurations you make in the mobile app are automatically applied to the mobile app only
Turn-off Preloading (Optional)
- Preloading in the office saves time, but in the field can take a long time and use a lot of data
- If you are going to preload searches on mobile try to minimize the data returned
- Click the right dot at the bottom of the search results screen
- Tap on the Preload toggle
- Tap Save in the lower right
