      DIT Integration – Consolidate Data to Understand It and Find Disparities

      Handle integrates DIT for efficient inventory management, offering real-time awareness, consolidation, and advanced reporting capabilities.

      Dealers often struggle to have 100% visibility into where their inventory is, who moved it, when, and why. The more stores you have, the bigger the challenge.

      For instance, a customer has 45 stores, and they told us they have to perform a monthly inventory audit that can take up to a day per store.

      To help with this, John Deere created the DIT (Dealer Inventory Tracking) program, with RFID tags that track equipment in inventory.  While this is helpful, there have been many additional requests to be able to report on the data more efficiently while providing access to users on Handle without going to another application. Handle’s DIT integration provides:

      1. Real-time awareness: Keep track of your inventory, including what’s missing. 
      2. Consolidate your data: Create standardized views of your inventory and related data.
      3. Manage DIT data: Perform searches, create tiles and views of equipment, etc.
      4. Save time on inventory audits: Find anomalies quickly.
      5. Better tracking: Know when equipment has been moved but isn’t at that location.
      6. Find issues quickly: Prevent thefts and lost equipment.

      DIT + Handle

      The DIT integration was originally created to pull John Deere’s application into Handle’s inventory tools so you can track equipment without leaving Handle. But our customers wanted to be able to use Handle’s search and reporting capabilities with DIT. 

      Now, the DIT integration gives you the best of both products. DIT tracks your inventory. Handle gives you near real-time awareness of DIT data so you can manage your inventory more efficiently.

      Once the integration is set up, Handle pulls in the DIT fields — when and where equipment moves, etc. — and consolidates it with the inventory data and functionality in Handle. This allows you to search the data, create tabs and views, and more.

      360-Degree View of Your Inventory

      With the DIT Integration, you have complete oversight of your inventory. 

      Open a piece of equipment, and select DIT Details in the left sidebar. This gives you details about the product, as well as product information and transactions.   

      In addition to DIT Details, you can view DIT events, images, and aggregate (other pieces of equipment that are linked to this piece). 

      Here, for example, you can view the events related to this piece of equipment.

      Query and Reporting Capabilities

      Handle’s DIT Integration doesn’t just tell you where your equipment is supposed to be. It allows you to quickly and easily dig deeper to find discrepancies in your records.

      For example, let’s say you decided to do an inventory audit, so you go onto the lot and check in all the pieces of equipment. But then you want to know if anything is missing. For that, you go into Handle and create an advanced search for pieces that are supposed to be at your location but weren’t checked in during your audit.

      How to Set Up Your DIT Integration

      Before we can set up your DIT integration, we need your: 

      • John Deere API Token (contact John Deere for this)
      • myJohnDeere username and password 
      • Dealer ID for DIT
