In This Article
Introduction
Twingate is a secure remote access solution that makes it easy to connect your employees to Texada’s internal resources. The following article will guide you through the steps of launching Twingate for the first time.
Twingate Setup
To start using Twingate to connect to Texada SRM, follow the instructions below.
First-Time Setup
The first step is to download and install the Twingate client. This step only needs to be performed once on each machine where Twingate will be used.
- Download and Install
You will receive a Twingate invitation email from Texada to the email address you’ve provided us previously. Open this email and click the “Download Twingate” button to download the Twingate client. This is the client you will use to access your Texada environment.
Once the download has finished, open it and follow the installation instructions to install the Twingate client on your computer.
Join Texada Network
The next step involves launching the Twingate client and joining the Texada network. This step needs to be performed once when you first install Twingate. Additionally, if you are ever disconnected from the Texada network, for example by selecting “Log out & disconnect” in the Twingate client, you will need to perform these steps again.
- Launch Client
When you open the Twingate client for the first time, you will see the following welcome message. Click “Continue” to continue.
- Join Network
When the Connect to a Network window appears, input “texadasoftware” before the .twingate.com. The full address should be texadasoftware.twingate.com. Click the “Join Network” button to continue. - Identity Provider Login
You will now be prompted to sign in to Twingate using an Identity Provider (IdP) of your choice (Google, Microsoft, GitHub, or LinkedIn). Note that you will need to have an account with one of these services in order to sign in to texadasoftware.twingate.com.
Select an IdP and follow the login instructions to continue.
Once you have logged in with your IdP of choice, you will see the following message. You can now close this page.
If you are ever disconnected from the Texada network, you can reconnect by left-clicking the Twingate client in your system tray and selecting “Join Network”. This will begin the connection process starting at step 2.
Multi-Factor Authentication
Once you have joined the Texada network, you will need to set up multi-factor authentication (MFA) to access your resources.
- Multi-Factor Authentication Setup
Once you have successfully authenticated into the Twingate client, a Twingate icon will appear in your taskbar (Windows) or menu bar (Mac). Left-click on this icon to see a list of resources to which you have access. Select a resource, then click “Authenticate…” to open the Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) setup page.
Click on “Set up MFA”, then follow the instructions to set up multi-factor authentication for Twingate.
Once MFA has been successfully set up, you will see the following message. You are now ready to access your Twingate resources.
Verify Access
Once you have performed the three steps above, you should have access to the resources specified in your Twingate client. You can verify your access by following the steps below.
- Verify Access
To verify access to the resource, click on the Twingate icon and click on the resource’s name. You will be able to see how long you have before MFA expires (23 hours in the example below).
