Bulk Import Accounts

A quick step-by-step guide on importing your Data from a Spreadsheet to the Field Service Tracker Web-based Dashboard.

There are two ways to import your accounts to Field Service Tracker.

Customers and Prospects have to be imported in separate spreadsheets.

If you use your own spreadsheet

  1. Go to your Field Service Tracker web-based dashboard and click on the Accounts tab in the left-hand menu.
  2. Click the plus (+) Icon in the top right-hand corner and select Import Accounts.
  3. If you have multiple people in your team, select the User this spreadsheet import will be assigned to in the drop-down box.
  4. Select whether you want to import the spreadsheet as customers, or prospects.
  5. Click Select File To Upload and find the spreadsheet file on your computer.
  6. Match the fields on your file to the Field Service Tracker fields.
  7. Click Save, and your import will start.

If you use the Field Service Tracker spreadsheet

  1. Download the spreadsheet.
  2. Populate the spreadsheet with your data.
  3. Save the file to your computer.
  4. Go to your Field Service Tracker web-based dashboard and click on the Accounts tab in the left-hand menu.
  5. Click the plus (+) Icon in the top right-hand corner and select Import Accounts.
  6. In the drop-down box, select the User this spreadsheet import will be assigned to.
  7. Select whether you want to import the spreadsheet as accounts, or prospects. You will need to import a separate spreadsheet for both accounts and prospects.
  8. Click Select File To Upload and find the spreadsheet file on your computer.
  9. Make sure the fields on your file match the Field Service Tracker fields.
  10. Click Save, and your import will start.

Depending on how many accounts you are importing, this process can take a few minutes.

If incorrect data is present (such as a bad address or the absence of any required field), a report will be visible at the top of the pop-up that tells you what needs to be fixed.

Copy the report info and paste it into a blank cell on your spreadsheet, so you can go back and fix the issues outlined in the report, and import again.

Field Service Tracker will only take the corrected fields and will not duplicate your data.
