Standard Jobs

An overview of the Standard Jobs page in Service Agreement Quoter.

Quick Reference

  • The Standard Jobs page allows you to manage the Events based on Standard Jobs available for each equipment model and serial number range. To access this page, navigate to the Admin section of SAQ (click the gear icon in the top-right corner of the screen), then select “Standard Jobs” from the left navigation menu.
  • When first accessed, this page will contain a list of equipment families present in your system. Click on an equipment family to view the equipment models and serial ranges within that family. Then, click on a model and serial range to view its available Events.
  • Click on an Event to edit it.
  • Check the “Enabled” checkbox to the left of an Event to enable it as a Standard Job for the selected model and serial number range. Uncheck this box to disable it.

Introduction

The Standard Jobs page allows you to manage the Events based on Standard Jobs available for each equipment model and serial number range. The availability of these Events is determined by the Event Types established on the Event Types page.

To access the Standard Jobs page, navigate to the Admin section of SAQ (click the gear icon in the top-right corner of the screen), then select “Standard Jobs” from the left navigation menu.

Standard Jobs

When first accessed, this page will contain a list of equipment families present in your system. Click on an equipment family to view the equipment models and serial ranges within that family. Then, click on a model and serial range to view its available Events.

  1. Equipment Families Table
    This table contains a list of equipment families in your system. Click on a column header to sort the table by that column. Click and drag the column headers to change the order of columns. Click and drag the vertical bars between the columns to resize the columns.
  2. Equipment Family
    Click on an equipment family to view the equipment models and serial number ranges for that family.
  3. Collapse Bar
    Click the bar with the left arrow to the left of the Equipment Families table or the Equipment Models and Serial Ranges table to collapse that table, giving more room to the other screen elements. Click the right arrow to expand the table again.
  4. Equipment Models and Serial Ranges Table
    This table contains a list of the equipment models and serial number ranges that exist for the selected equipment family.
  5. Back Button
    Click to close the Events table or the Equipment Models and Serial Ranges table.
  6. Model and Serial Range
    Click on a model and serial range to view its available Events.
  7. Events Table
    This table contains a list of the available Events that exist for the selected equipment model and serial range.
  8. Save Button
    Click to save your changes.
  9. Enabled Checkbox
    Check this checkbox to enable an Event as a Standard Job for the selected equipment model and serial range. Uncheck this checkbox to disable it.
  10. Event
    Click on an Event to edit it. See “Edit an Event in Service Agreement Quoter” for more information.

Equipment Families Table - Columns

The Equipment Families Table comprises the following columns:

  • Description: A description of the equipment family.
  • Total Models/SN Ranges: The total number of equipment models and serial number ranges that exist within the equipment family.
  • Events: The total number of Events (enabled and disabled) that exist across all models and serial ranges within the equipment family.
  • Enabled Events: The total number of enabled Events that exist across all models and serial ranges within the equipment family.

Equipment Models and Serial Ranges Table - Columns

The Equipment Models and Serial Ranges table comprises the following columns:

  • Make: The equipment’s make.
  • Model: The equipment’s model.
  • Begin S/N: The starting serial number of the serial range. Each range includes all equipment with serial numbers from Begin S/N - End S/N.
  • End S/N: The ending serial number of the serial range. Each range includes all equipment with serial numbers from Begin S/N - End S/N.
  • Events: The total number of Events (enabled and disabled) that exist for the model and serial range.
  • Enabled Events: The total number of enabled Events that exist for the model and serial range.

Events Table - Columns

The Events table comprises the following columns:

  • Enabled: Contains the Enabled checkbox.
  • Event Name: The name of the Event.
  • Category: The Event’s category. Categories are managed via the “Categories” page.
  • Cost Per Occurrence: The cost of the Event when added to a Quote.
  • Frequency: The Event’s Start Frequency, used to calculate the target start date for Contracts that include the Event. For more information, see “Event Frequency”.
  • Next Frequency: The Event’s Next Frequency, used alongside the Start Frequency to calculate future target start dates for Contracts that include the Event. For more information, see “Event Frequency”.
  • Job Code: The Event’s three-digit Job Code (Caterpillar SMCS code).
  • Comp Code: The Event’s four-digit Component Code (Caterpillar SMCS code).
  • Modifier: The Event’s modifier SMCS code.
  • Qty: The Event’s quantity SMCS code.
  • Location: The Event’s job location SMCS code.
  • Work Application: The Event’s work application SMCS code.
  • Job Condition: The Event’s job condition SMCS code.
  • Cab Type: The Event’s cab type SMCS code.
  • Changed By: The name of the user who last edited the Event.
