2019 RentalLogic Release Notes

Contains release notes for RentalLogic for the 2019 calendar year.

These release notes address new features and code fixes for the standard release of RentalLogic as of 2019. Notes are categorized as either Enhancements (new components or features) or Corrections (bug fixes).

All changes will be fully laid out in the Help Center, located at www.help.texadasoftware.com, following the release.

June 2019

DASHBOARD

  • Enhancement - A dashboard has been added to the menu. On this dashboard, users will be able to see how many assets are coming in today and how many assets are going out today. Clicking on a widget will bring the user to the Calendar (see below)
  • Enhancement - A calendar tab has been added to the Contracts table. Clicking this tab will direct the user to a table where a list of assets that are coming in or going out can be viewed. This list will show what time period the asset is/was gone, as well as the relevant asset information (time, date, contract, etc.)

CUSTOMERS

  • Correction - Previously, the label for Statement Type on a customer record read “Print/Fax”, however, this is not supported by RentalLogic. This was corrected to read “Print / Email” instead.

SETTINGS

  • Enhancement – Added ability to give or revoke rights for operator to add products to a contract when product is unavailable.

INVENTORY RECEIVING

  • Enhancement - We have added the ability to perform Quick Receiving in RentalLogic. This is accessible by navigating to Inventory > Quick Receiving. This will allow the user to receive parts to increase the quantity on hand, while also updating the cost.
  • Enhancement – We have added a new company setting / parameter to the Settings menu for Inventory Receiving. This will hide/display the module for users.

INVENTORY

  • Enhancement – A new column was added to the Parts and Assets tables to indicate whether or not the “Included in Inventory” checkbox has been checked.
  • Enhancement - File attachments can now be added to the parts file/record.
  • Enhancement - Validation has been added to ensure the value added to the “Meter Digit” field is between ‘1’ and ‘8’ in accordance with SRM business logic.

CUSTOMERS

  • Enhancement – Previously, once a user has performed a customer search and selected a customer, if the user wished to go back to the customer search, the user would need to re-type their search criteria. Now, if a user selects a search result and wants to go back, the user can click “Back to Search” which will bring them back to the results list, without needing to re-perform the search.
  • Enhancement - File attachments can now be added to a customer file.

INVOICE(S)

  • Enhancement – If an invoice is no posted yet, the user will now be able to remove any products from the selected invoice. Previously, once a product was added, it could not be removed from within RentalLogic by the end user.

INVENTORY MANAGEMENT

  • Enhancement – When accessing a product via the inventory menu, there is a “Bulk” checkbox. Previously, this checkbox could be edited at any time. We added additional logic around this checkbox to only allow it to be checked upon creation of the product.
  • Enhancement - Added additional logic so that if a bulk item is added, the Meter Type field will default to “non-metered”.
  • Enhancement - Added a “Notes” field to the inventory screens to allow users to record notes relating to the selected product.
  • Enhancement - We have added the ability to specify the vendor for a part or asset.

CONTRACTS

  • Enhancement - When adding services to a contract, users will now be able to see the service code, description, unit cost, quantity, and total cost. The quantity is an editable field. The Total Cost is calculated by multiplying the unit cost x quantity.
  • Enhancement - When viewing a contract, a user will be able to view all related totals: sales, rentals, services, discounts, taxes, and the grand total.

INVOICES

  • Enhancement - We have added additional logic to ensure only unposted invoices can be edited.
  • Enhancement - When viewing a contract, a user will be able to view all related totals: sales, rentals, services, discounts, taxes, and the grand total. If the user is viewing an invoice that has had a full or partial payment, the payment amount as well as the remaining balance will be visible, as well.

MISC./ADMINISTRATIVE

  • Enhancement - We have made changes to the way we handle company timezones. Previously, there was no logic in place if the division or company time zone differed from the user’s time zone. Now, we will always display times by the document’s time zone to avoid any confusion.
  • Enhancement - We have added a “?” icon to the navigation bar in order to make accessing our Help Menu easier for desktop users.
  • Enhancement - We are making changes to the way we send emails from within FleetLogic. Previously, all emails were sent by Texada Software. Now, each company will have the ability to configure their outgoing email information so that emails sent from FleetLogic appear to come from your company, not Texada. This can be configured by the gear/cog icon in the top navigation bar.
