Context

Assign a technician or technician to a work order in FleetLogic when you receive a work order request that you need them to carry out. Assigning a technician changes the status of the work order to Assigned and automatically sends an email notification to the technician, informing them of the work order. 

 

Note: You can assign multiple technicians to a work order.

 

Before You Begin

Required: Internet connection, valid FleetLogic login credentials and access permissions, existing work order, existing technician

Optional: Mobile device with an internet connection

 

Steps

To assign a work order to a technician, do the following:

  1. Do one of the following:
    1. In the menu bar, navigate to Work OrdersList, then click the work order you need to assign
    2. In the menu bar, navigate to Work Orders > Map, then click the pin of the work order you need to assign
    The work order details page opens in the main area
  2. In the TECHNICIANS panel, under Add a technician, click the Search by technician name... drop-down
    A list of existing technicians opens
  3. In the Search by technician name... drop-down, click the name of a technician, or type information related to the technician such as the technician’s name
    The list of existing technicians is filtered to reflect your search terms
  4. Click the technician you need to add
    The technician is added to the TECHNICIANS section
  5. In the action bar, click Save
    The technician(s) in the TECHNICIANS panel are assigned to the work order 
    The status of the work order is updated to Assigned
    The status of any added technician(s) are updated to Assigned
    The technician(s) are automatically notified of the assignment
    Any other updates to the work order are saved
