Support & Troubleshooting
Background Tasks Are Inactive
The "Background Task", as the name implies, is a process that runs unseen to users whose purpose is to update inventory quantity changes.
If the server is in the middle of processing a lot of transactions ( e.g. during a Daily Close), the background task may be delayed until those transactions are completed and a message is displayed with a warning that "The Background Task Is Inactive". The operator can enter 'Y' to continue and the message is no longer displayed.
If the message is displayed at infrequent and irregular intervals, answering 'Y' to the prompt is the appropriate course of action.
If the message is displayed at frequent, regular intervals ( i.e. every few minutes ), further investigation may be necessary.
