Context

Track the labor time on a work order in order to better understand the efficiency of your team at an individual and group level.

You can add labor to a work order in Texada Mobile at two different points in the work order workflow:

  1. Immediately after confirming an asset you are prompted to add labor by default (work order is in the Assigned Status)
  2. In the Labor section of the work order details (work order is in the In Progress or Paused status)

You can set up the mobile application to prompt your users to add labor when they are working on a work order by enabling the auto time tracker in Texada Web.  See: “Enable or Disable the Automatic Time Tracker in Texada Web” for more information.

You can track two types of labor time on a work order:

  • Tracked time: the labor time actually spent on the work order
  • Billable time: the labor time that your customer has agreed to pay for

You can export the labor hours to a spreadsheet in the time tracker in Texada Web. You can use the spreadsheet to view tracked time vs. your billable time to see if your workforce is completing their work orders within the billable time, or if they are consistently going over the time. See: “Export a List View as a Spreadsheet in Texada Web” for more information.

Note: It is recommended that you track the labor time if you complete work that is billed to your customers.
